What are the system's dimensions?
System’s dimensions when assembled: 300cm (L) × 145cm (W) × 140cm (H) or 118 in (L)x 57 in (w) x 55 in (H).

How far from the stove can the system be located?
The system can be up to 20m/65.6 ft from the stove. We provide 7m/23 ft of pipes.

What can I feed my system with?
HomeBiogas 4 can be fed with food waste and/or manure with the following maximum daily input: (1) food waste: up to 3 gal or 12 liter per day. (mix with water at a ration of 1:1) (2) Manure: 28L of manure + 56L of water or 7 gal of manure + 14 gal of water.

Do you provide a warranty?
Yes, 2 years on the system and one year on the stove. Please follow this link to read our warranty.

Can I store the gas?
You can use an additional gas bag. Please note the gas is stored uncompressed. The additional gas bag’s volume is 700L, meaning it is an additional 2 cooking hours on a single stove.

How do I activate the system?
The system is activated with fresh animal manure from a herbivore source. The manure should be fresh as it means the bacteria is still alive. Add the manure all at once to the system, after you’ve mixed it with water (1:1) and wait between 1 to 3 weeks. Please note activation needs to be done at temperature of at least 22C/ 72F

How long does it take to ship?
The product will be at your door within 3 weeks of purchase.

What's the system's lifespan?
At least 15 years, lab tested.

Should I feed my system daily?
You can feed when you want to. Keep in mind the system is designed in an easy way so that if you feed you’ll get biogas the next day, if not, you won’t have gas.

Should I use on a daily basis?
You can feed whenever you want, you can miss days. The system is designed to provide biogas only when you feed.

What's your return policy?
RETURN POLICY:
HomeBiogas is dedicated to customer satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we will be happy to assist you.
- Cancellation, before shipping: HomeBiogas provides a refund for the system and shipping, minus a 5% transfer fee.
- Cancellation, within first 30 days after shipping: refund on HomeBiogas cost only, minus a 5% transfer fee.
- Shipping fees for returning system are the responsibility of the customer.
- No refunds will be issued after more than 30 days from delivery.
For full refunds, all returns must be within 30 days from shipping. To be eligible for a refund, your item must be unused, free from dirt, dust, or damage, and in the same package and condition that you received it. If your return passes our inspection, you may receive an exchange, credit, or a refund. Please include a note with your return stating your order number, the reason for the return, and if you prefer a refund, exchange, or credit.

REFUNDS
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your return.
If you are approved, then your refund, exchange, or store credit will be processed. For refunds, a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 2-5 business days. We do offer exchanges within the us, but we don’t offer any exchanges for international orders.
LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company. It may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at [email protected]

What is the right temperature?
The minimal weekly temperature that’s needed is 18C/ 63F for food waste and 10C/ 50F for manure.

Can I use the system seasonally?
Yes, just make sure that when you go back to feeding, you need to do it gradually over a period of 2 weeks to prevent putting the bacteria under pressure.

Will the bacteria die during winter?
Most likely your bacteria will be dormant and will wake up when the weather is warmer. In this case please start feeding gradually to see if your bacteria is active. If your system is productive, raise the input amount gradually over the period of two weeks.

Can I use it in the snow?
During and below freezing temperatures we recommend to stop feeding and to drain at least 600L.

How can I extend the use?
You can place your system in a greenhouse that is ventilated for the top, feed less, follow your gas activity, add probiotics (daily basis) and try to insulate as much as possible. Stop when there is no more gas production.

Do I need to empty the system?
No, it is not necessary.

How do probiotics benefit the system?
Probiotics are a mix of good bacteria needed for healthy digestion. It gives a great boost to the system and even prepares it for winter. We recommend using it!

Which maintenance does the system require?
A filter change once in 6 months. And a probiotics tablet once a week (optional but highly recommended).

How about the sludge that's created at the bottom of the system?
HomeBiogas is designed in a way that the base of the system is wide and long. So when the sludge is created as a result of the anaerobic digestion, it is in a negligible amount that has no effect on the efficiency of the process and requires no cleaning at all.
