But beyond the numbers, the real impact is in the lives of families—especially women—who now have cleaner kitchens, more time, and greater independence. We sat down with our Kenya Operations Manager to reflect on this journey and what’s next.

Reaching 5,000 households in Kenya is a huge milestone! How does it feel, Daniel?

“Wow, it feels absolutely AMAZING! Knowing that around 25,000 people are now enjoying delicious, home-cooked meals thanks to biogas-powered cooking is truly fulfilling. And what’s even more exciting? In February alone, we installed a record-breaking 420 systems in just one month! That’s not just growth—it’s proof that more families are choosing a cleaner, easier, and more sustainable way to cook. Every new installation means one less household struggling with smoke, firewood, or expensive charcoal. That’s real impact!”

What’s been the most surprising feedback from customers this year?

“Before switching to HomeBiogas, women spent hours collecting firewood or dealing with the hassle of buying and storing charcoal. Cooking was time-consuming, and smoke-filled kitchens made it uncomfortable, even unhealthy.

Now, with biogas, everything has changed. Meals are prepared faster, and their kitchens stay clean and smoke-free. But the real impact? Freedom. Women tell us they finally have time for so much more—running small businesses, helping their children with schoolwork, or simply taking a break. It’s a shift from survival mode to managing their own households on their own terms, with healthier choices and less stress.

One customer told me, “I used to wake up thinking about where to find fuel for the day. Now, I wake up knowing I have everything I need right here at home.” That’s what makes this work so rewarding—it’s not just about cooking; it’s about empowerment, independence, and a better quality of life.

Was there a challenge in 2024 that taught you something new?

Oh yes, definitely! One of the biggest challenges was transitioning our end-user financing support from internal to external partners. It wasn’t easy—it required patience, persistence, and a whole lot of trust-building. But what I learned is that strong partnerships are key to scaling impact. When we collaborate with the right financial institutions, more families gain access to HomeBiogas, and that’s a win for everyone. Now, with the right financing models in place, we can reach even more households who need this solution the most.

Which part of our process worked best this year and should be expanded in 2025?

Our CRM system has been an absolute game-changer! It keeps everything running smoothly, from tracking installations to supporting our customers efficiently. Having the right information at the right time makes all the difference, and as we grow, expanding this system will be crucial for making sure no household gets left behind.

What’s the most common feedback you hear from customers?

The best feedback we hear? Customers say they wouldn’t even consider selling their HomeBiogas system—not even at market price! That tells you everything. It’s not just a product to them—it’s a life upgrade. They see the savings, the convenience, and the transformation in their homes, and they’re completely committed to it.

Any standout moments that inspired you this year?

One of my most memorable moments was meeting a customer who had been using our system for two years. Without knowing I was from HomeBiogas, they told me, “This is the best thing that ever happened in my life.” They had been paying their monthly fees diligently and were so excited that they only had one more payment left before they could start saving money every month. Seeing that kind of long-term impact is what keeps us going!

What’s your biggest goal for 2025 as we aim for 10,000 households?

Our BIGGEST goal is to help at least 2,500 more households kickstart their journey toward clean, sustainable, and cost-saving cooking with HomeBiogas. We’ve built momentum, we’re growing fast, and we’re ready to make an even bigger impact. More families, more savings, more trees protected. 2025 is going to be a year of transformation!
